Real Leaf Lamps

These eco-friendly lamps are handmade by a small Fair Trade company in the Philippines.
They are made  from real leaves, which are harvested from living trees and grow back quickly.
The leaves are pressed and dried for about four months. The dried leaves are either left a natural color (off-white or light brown), or dyed with organic dyes to create stunning colors.

After drying, skilled artisans carefully cut out and arrange the leaves, and adhere them to a sheet of heat resistant material. (This is the same material used for nearly every lamp shade in the U.S.)
In keeping with our eco-friendly approach, we recommend using CFL or LED bulbs with these lamps. They are very efficient, using a fraction of the electricity of incandescent bulbs, and generate little heat. You can use any wattage CFL or LED available.

Like most of the products we feature, these lamps are handmade, not mass produced. Therefore, availability can sometimes be an issue.
